Faculty of Social Studies
The Faculty of Social Studies was established in 1998 and it is among the newest and most dynamic parts of Masaryk University. Its social science tradition dates to 1921, when I. A. Bláha, who studied under Émile Durkheim, established the Department of Sociology. The Faculty is located in the city’s historic centre, its redesigned atrium at the heart of the building is a popular location for social gatherings.
